NFL Week 12 Predictions: The NFL playoff race should really begin to heat up this week as the schedule barrells into Thanksgiving, the official marker of the stretch run. There is a definite log jam in the AFC chase as 12 teams still have a somewhat viable shot at postseason play. And the picture in the NFC is not much clearer with 11 teams even now vying for the six coveted positions. This week's action could further the muddy the waters with Pittsburgh taking on Baltimore and New York (Giants) squaring off against Denver. For the latest spreads on these games and all NFL Week 12 Predictions, visit online sportsbook Bookmaker.com today.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs Baltimore Ravens (N/A): The Steelers looked to be in Super Bowl form a couple of weeks ago havingNFL Week 12 Predictions won five straight games and sharing the AFC North lead with Cincinnati. Those days are long gone as back-to-back losses to the Bengals and Chiefs have many questioning Pittsburgh's fortitude. While there is little doubt that the Steelers are capable of turning things around, they had better start doing it this weekend or another playoff run could be in jeopardy. Pittsburgh has not exactly been nails on the road this season, going 2-3 with setbacks at Chicago, Cincinnati, and Kansas City. They have also been abysmal in Baltimore in recent seasons, going 1-5 in their last six games at M&T Bank Stadium.

The Ravens, after an 0-3 start, find themselves in a slightly worse situation than their AFC North rival. At 5-5 Baltimore is still in the playoff picture, but another loss or two could spell doom for John Harbaugh's squad. Since their early success, the Ravens have struggled to win close games, losing five of their last seven contests by an average of 4.6 points. They have also had trouble beating good teams at home, going 1-2 at M&T versus teams with a winning record.

A line has not been posted on this game yet due to a head injury suffered by Ben Roethlisberger in overtime against the Chiefs. However, early reports indicate that the Pro Bowl passer will be able to play against Baltimore.

New York Giants vs Denver Broncos (+6.5): The Giants finally got back in the win column on Sunday, but they needed overtime to get past a game Falcons club at the Meadowlands. Despite their slide, New York is still just a game back of the first place Cowboys, which they face after their Thanksgiving Day battle with Denver. New York was brilliant on the road earlier this season, but they have dropped their last two away contests by an average of 22 points per game.

The Broncos were not as fortunate as the Giants, as their skid reached four games with a horrendous home loss to the Chargers. Now Denver, which looked to have the AFC West locked up a few weeks ago, is fighting for its playoff life. They are presently tied with the Jaguars and Steelers at 6-4 but they are just a game ahead of the Ravens, Texans, and Dolphins in the AFC race. A fifth straight loss would not eliminate them from contention, but it might be a death blow to what must be a fragile team psyche.

The American Music Awards last night had their share of "Holy @%$!" moments, with Adam Lambert (video), Whitney Houston, and Lady Gaga all making performances that have people talking and checking Youtube this morning.

Jennifer Lopez made her musical return last night as well, in a performance as notable for a miscue as for anything else. She performed her new song, "Louboutins," with a phalanx of dancers dressed as boxers.

Check out the video, if you'd like to fast-forward to the fall, start watching around the 2:50 mark.

Adam Lambert AMA performance video: Adam Lambert's amazing performance on video

Adam Lambert AMA performance video has been met with controversy. Adam Lambert's AMA performance was the most shocking performance seen in a long time. Of course, music award shows are no stranger to the shock factor. Madonna and Britney Spears kissed at the 2003 MTV VMAs.

Adam Lambert followed in the footsteps of his freaky sisters and proceeded to kiss one of his male backup dancers. While the male-male kiss did get a lot of strange looks (just as Britney and Madonna's kiss), it wasn't what made his performance so controversial.

Adam Lambert also took a male backup dancer's head and smashed it in his crotch. While these antics would be welcomed on late-night premium TV such as HBO or Cinemax, it's not exactly appropriate for prime-time television where children may be watching.

If there's an upside to the Adam Lambert AMA performance video it's that the former American Idol contestant is very talented. The shock factor will bring attention to him - attention that is needed considering he has his first album set to debut soon.

AMA Music Awards: Taylor Swift tops Michael Jackson; Adam Lambert, Lady GaGa go off

The American Music Awards gave talented singer Taylor Swift another massive round of fan voted awards to take home this year, as the country pop star took home honors for Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist, Favorite Country Album (for Fearless), Favorite Female Pop/Rock Artist, and Favorite Country Female Artist.

This is Taylor Swift winning for Female Pop/Rock Artist:

But what was shocking was that Taylor Swift beat the otherwordly legend that is the late Michael Jackson for Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist. But even with that Michael Jackson took home awards for Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist, Favorite Pop/Rock Album (for Number Ones), Favorite Soul/R&B Male Artist, and Favorite Soul/R&B Album.

But the news of Swift beating Jackson caused controversy on Twitter, with a large number of tweets of protest like this one:

FeeshaD I can't believe Taylor Swift beat out Lady Gaga & MJ @ the AMA's! People have gotten so lame. less than a minute ago from mobile web

But then there are a lot of repeated tweets in anticipation of the 2010 Grammy Awards, like this one:

_Julia13 just voted "TAYLOR SWIFT" on "WHO WILL MOST LIKELY WIN A GRAMMY 2010????" vote too âž” http://bit.ly/6MER36 3 minutes ago from POLLpigeon

Regardless of the tweet, it's clear that 20-year old Taylor Swift is having a year that one could only dream about. And all Swift had to do was sing, oh, and surround herself with the right publicist. But for some, creating nutty moments at the AMA gave their publicity hacks easy work: Adam Lambert and Lady GaGa.

Adam Lambert decided he was going to let is loins get the best of him and do some sexually provacative things during his singing number that really he could have done it without. I'm not going to give those actions video airplay.

Lady GaGa's bottle breaking spell during her number was less controversial but still questionable - and the piano was on fire, too!

It's as if the show producers decided to conspire with the performers to create as many Internet-viral-producing moments as possible just to keep us talking about the AMAs long after the show is over.

That strategy is very much like what I believe was done for the halftime show at Super Bowl 38 in Houston, when Justin Timberlake took off Janet Jackson's bra. It proved the impact of the Super Bowl on American culture because it was the pop event conversation for all the rest of 2004 and just at the time when the NFL was renegotiating its television contract.

To me, that was no accident, just as the AMA events of Sunday night were no accident. Both actions were created for the media and both actions worked to generate buzz. Look for more of this approach in the future and perhaps at The Grammys.

Adam Lambert AMA Performance VIDEO

Adam Lambert wrapped up the 2009 American Music Awards with a racy rendition of his new , the title track from For Your Entertainment. His steamy choreography, heavily laced with sexual overtones, will likely be the hottest topic of the day.

He kissed a male , and engaged in simulated gratification moves with both male and female performers. After the performance he seemed offended by suggestions that the act was too risque and vigorously defended his moves.

Lambert told Rolling Stone, “It’s a shame because I think that there’s a double standard going on in the community right now. Female performers have been doing this for years — pushing the envelope about sexuality — and the minute a man does it, everybody freaks out. It’s time to take risks, be a little more brave, time to open people’s eyes and if it offends them, then maybe I’m not for them.”

According to Lambert, there were several unscripted and spontaneous moments during the performance, including a misstep that caused him to fall to the floor.

Check out the performance on the uncensored video below and do let us know – was it too racy for general public consumption or brilliant, edgy and entertaining.

Adam Lambert kissed, Devin Hester pantsed on live TV

If you weren't watching TV Sunday night, you missed two boundary testers: Adam Lambert's kiss with another man during his show-ending performance on the American Music Awards and Devin Hester getting pantsed after another pass was thrown inaccurately to him.

So in the spirit of Monday morning quarterbacking, we examine: Was it offensive?

Lambert's kiss What happened: As the gay performer sang his "For Your Entertainment" single on the Dick Clark-produced American Music Awards, he planted a long kiss on his male keyboardist. The performance also included crotch-grabbing and crotch-thrusting.

What Lambert said: "Part of what I love about being a live performer is that sometimes you just are in the moment and sometimes things just happen," he told CNN backstage at the show.

Was it offensive? No more so than all the other sexually suggestive maneuvers used to grab headlines for awards-show performances, though 1,500 people apparently felt otherwise, according to ABC. If you are shocked that this time it's a gay man, rather than Madonna, doing the kissing, then you probably could stand to be shocked.

Hester's pants
What happened: In Sunday night's nationally televised game, Bears wide receiver Devin Hester failed to catch a pass thrown poorly by quarterback Jay Cutler. Thinking Hester had caught the ball, the defender grabbed him by the waistband and, in the resultant tug, briefly exposed Hester's buttocks, especially visible on the NBC replay.

What Hester said: Nothing. He apparently wasn't in the mood to give the kind of humorous quote about the incident that we might have gotten had the Bears won.

Was it offensive? It was cheeky, to be sure, but the male backside, accidentally exposed, hardly meets today's standards for shocking. Indeed, the incident may have been the least offensive thing that took place when Hester's team had the ball.

Adam Lambert “For Your Entertainment” American Music Awards 2009 Video | Adam Lambert “For Your Entertainment” Video

Adam Lambert is fully embracing his new solo career -- as well as his keyboard player.

The "American Idol" runner-up gave the final performance at the 2009 American Music Awards Sunday, and he delivered much of what earlier outings by Janet Jackson, Carrie Underwood, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Lady Gaga and others had: lots of backup dancers, a stumble or two and just a bit of raunchiness.

OK, in Lambert's case, there was more than a bit of racy material. He simulated oral sex, made out with an androgynous keyboard player, fake fondled a dancer's privates, and stumbled (and recovered) during a rousing performance of his new song, "For Your Entertainment."

ABC says more than 1,500 people have called to complain about Lambert's sexually charged performance. The network characterized the response as "moderate."

Before his performance, Lambert said he wanted to break down a double standard that existed where female performers are often sexually provocative while men don't do it that often.

There were also hostile comments online about the "American Idol" glam rocker who sang "For Your Entertainment" with an elaborate, S&M-themed production.

Dick Clark Productions Adam Lambert:AMA Performance

Dick Clark Productions Adam Lambert:AMA Performance – Dick Clark Productions Adam Lambert rant can be found here.ABC and Dick Clark Productions have decided to censor/edit Adam Lambert’s AMAs performance and the singer is not happy about it.Adam said:

“If it’s edited, that’s discrimination.I will be a little disappointed because there is a little bit of discrimination going in this country. There’s a big double standard, female pop artists have been doing things provocative like that for years, and the fact that I’m a male, and I’ll be edited and discriminated against could be a problem.Shock is fun, shock rock is like something that existed, for example, like in the 70’s, Alice Cooper…David Bowie, you had artists that liked to push the envelope and that’s what made them so fresh.Prince for example, wore a**less chaps one year…I think that surprise is part of entertainment. I think that it keeps people watching its fun, it makes you laugh and it should be that way. And if it made you uncomfortable, maybe I’m not for you.”

Gay rights publication The Advocate said a statement :

“In his first major television performance outside ‘American Idol,’ Adam Lambert delivered the sexually charged number we expected from him last night on the AMAs. It was reminiscent of other envelope-pushing performances by provocative artists like Madonna and Janet Jackson. It’s unfortunate that ABC and Dick Clark Productions censored the performance for west coast audiences highlighting the double standard that still exists for gay entertainers.”
